Spanish Merino sheep transported with the Fred Warren from the USA towards Australia according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 1 December 1863

An item reported the intended departure of the ship Fred Warren from Boston towards Melbourne, Australia that same week with on board 12 sheep of the Spanish Merino race. The sheep were breed by George Campbell of Westminster, Ebenezer Bridge of Pomfret and O.F. Barron of White River Junction. It were quite expensive animals. Some had a value of several hundreds of dollars.
