An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands the 4th reported that the officers of the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Komeet decided to place a monument for lieutenant 1st class J. Klinkhamer killed on 27 October 1831 during the bombardment of Antwerp, Belgium. Justus Klinkhamer was just 22 years old when he died caused by seven wounds. He was buried at the cemetery at Vlissingen. The monument could not be earlier placed due to the time conditions. Captain engineer J.E. Duyvené was responsible for the design, J. Verdoorn for the supervision when it was actually placed. The crew placed on both sides of the main monument two small cubic shaped monuments for the also killed boatswain mate P. Hartz and quartermaster J.C. Kreyenburg.

2. On 25 August 1830 started a revolt in what afterwards become the independent kingdom of Belgium but at that moment since 1815 still part of the kingdom of the Netherlands. On 4 October 1830 declared the Belgians their independence, on 21 July 1831 was their first king installed. Not earlier as in 1839 accepted the Netherlands the consequences (Treaty of London).
