In the order administration dated 30 December 1880 was the order for account of the Dutch Department of navy board Amsterdam described as the delivery of a steam- and hand steering gears [Bow McLachlan’s Patent?] for the screw steam ship 1st class Zr. Ms. De Ruyter (1) for a contracted price of ƒ 22.340. Building costs totally ƒ 18.838,88 (steering gear ƒ 6.993,57, material ƒ 3.851,37, labour ƒ 3.489,24, 65% expenses on labour ƒ 2.262, adjusting ƒ 1.345,62, transport+travel costs ƒ 897,08) resulting in a profit of ƒ 3.501,12.
