American destroyer USS Winslow (1913-1936) on 1 September 1915

Building approved in 1912. First material ordered after 0,5 month. Keel laid after 10 months. Delivered to the US government after 2 years and 8 months. Contracted building time 2 years so 8 months too late.

1. O’Brien-class. Ordered in March 1913. Laid down at the shipyard of William Cramp and |Sons, Philadelphia, USA with yard number 406 on 1 October 1913, launched on 11 February 1915 and commissioned on 7 August 1915. Hull number DD-53.
