American ship USS Lebanon used for salvage purposes according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1905-1906 no. 3

An item referred to the Army and Naval Journal reporting that the American ship Lebanon was to be fitted out for removing floating wrecks, of which 27 were sighted between Santiago, Chile and Newfoundland.(1)

1. The collier USS Lebanon (AG-2) launched at William Cramp&Sons, Philadelphia, USA in 1894 and acquired by the US Navy from the Philadelphia and Reading RR Company on 6 April 1898? She was finally sold on 2 June 1922. Except for collier also used as tug, transport and repair ship.
