New British repair ship HMS Assistance built according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1905-1906 no. 3

An item referred to the magazine Mitteilungen a.d.G.d.S. reported that the British HMS Assistance fitted out with all modern equipment for repairing ships as sea was to serve as repair ship for the British Atlantic Fleet with as homeport Gibraltar. Displacement of 9.600 ton and 4.000 hp machinery. She was to first of her kind in England.(1)

1. Launched at Raylton Dixon on 22 December 1900 and handed over to Messrs. Ward as a natural part of the payment for the Majestic and broken up at Pembroke Dock where she arrived on 11 March 1937.
