British Admiralty ordered the use of fire proof wood in warships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 8

An item reported that the British Admiralty ordered that principally fire proof wood was to be used during the building of warships. The first ships to be built conform this order were the Implacable and Bullwark where doors, panelling and ship cages were to be made of this wood. In the future were even steel-made object to be made of fire proof wood.
