German navy adding each year new torpedo boat division to the fleet according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 8
An item referred to the Mittheilungen reporting that the new division of torpedo boats ordered at Schichau on account of the German navy was to consist of 3 vessels ech to be manned with 2 officers, 4 deck officers and 43 petty officers and sailors. Coal bunker capacity of 100 ton. The fore torpedo tube was stricken just like the conning tower fore while both were responsible for a lower speed in high seas. In stead was a ‘jetty’ placed. From 1900 was the torpedo fleet yearly to be increased with a division ocean going torpedo boats.
