British protected cruiser 2nd class HMS Venus executed her trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1896-1897 no.6

An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the British cruiser 2nd class Venus during her trials with natural draft achieved a speed of 19,25 miles with 8.204 ihp and forced draft a speed of 19,5 miles with 9.774 ihp.

1. Of the Eclipse-class 2nd class protected cruisers, laid down by Fairfield Shipbuilding&Engineering, Govan, Scotland on 28 June 1894, launched on 5 September 1895, completed on 9 November 1897 and sold to be broken up on 22 September 1921.
