British Royal Navy founded pigeon loft at Devonport according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1896-1897 no. 8

An item referred to the Le Yacht reporting that the British Admiralty the building at Devonport ordered of a large pigeon loft large enough for a number of 200 pigeons to be used by the signal corps.
