French Navy increased just like the Royal British Navy displacement of destroyers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1915-1916 no. 4

An item reported that the French navy followed more or less the same principles for building destroyers as the Royal British Navy. The French destroyers Boucher and Casque with a displacement of 660 and a trial speed of 35-36 miles had a serious disadvantage of leaking due to stamping at full speed on a medium heavy sea. The newer Bison-class with a displacement increased with 100 tons, lifted fore ships, heavier shell plates and machinery performed despite a lower nominal speed better. The Gabolde, Roux and Lestin had a further increased displacement until 900 ton while the latest designs showed a displacement of 1.200 tons.
