British built Portuguese gunboats Lacerda, Serpa Pinto, Capello and Ivens transported towards Mozambique according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens 1895 nr. 7

An item reported that the steamship Buccaneer left the Thames loaded with 4 stern wheel paddle steamships built for Portuguese account by Messrs. Yarrow&Co., Poplar, England. Three of the boards were disassembled in floating sections to make it possible to assemble the boats within some days after the arrival in East Africa and to be brought to their destination. The fourth boat was disassembled in small parts to be hand carried over land. Two of the sternwheelers were to serve at Lourenço Marquez [nowadays Maputo, Mozambique], named Lacerda and Serpa Pinto with as dimensions 27,1 x 5,5 x 0,45 metres. The other two were to serve at Inhambane, Mozambique named Capello and Ivens with as dimensions 27,1 x 5,5 x 0,35 metres.
