Spanish torpedo cruiser Filipinas completed according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens 1896 nr. 3

An item reported that the Spanish torpedo cruiser Filipinas built by the establishment Vea-Murgia recently was completed. Dimensions 73,4 (between perpendiculars)-74,3 (maximum) x 8,25 (maximum) x 2,9 (maximum) metres and a displacement of 750 tons. Speed 20 knots and range 3.000 nautical miles. The armament consisted of 2-12cm guns (1 fore and 1 aft placed on hydraulic mountings), 4-0,42cm Hotchkiss guns on the deck, 2-0,11cm machineguns, 4 Schwartzkopf submerged torpedo tubes and Mauser rifles. Electric lightened and fitted out with five boats including a 7 metres long rescue cutter.
