An item reported that under the Swedish naval budget of 1897 was the first half of 11 4/15 million crones used for the building of 2 armoured ships, 4 torpedo cruisers and 6 torpedo boats and another 3 million crones for the defence of Vaxholm, Oscar-Fredriksborg and at Gotland.
