British hydroplane base established at Dundee, Scotland according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1914 nos. 1-2
An item reported that
at Dundee, Scotland a hydroplane station was to be established for first 12
planes and with a personnel strength of 12 officers and 60 men. The Admiralty
seemed to be intending to establish a main hydroplane station along the Tay,
Scotland to be realized within several months. Dundee was just such a good
location while she was lying along Tay and on reasonable distance of Rosyth and
the submarine base.
