French submarine Ventôse established depth record according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no. 5

An item reported that the French submarine Ventôse established a record with deliberately steaming during 24 minutes on a depth of 35 metres. Other submarines dived earlier to such a depth but it was still known that a submarine could stay there for some time. It was considered to be proved that the hull of this kind of boats was reliable and solid.(1)
