The Italian naval air station at Taranto in 1916-1917 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1920 no. 4

An item referred to notes of a naval officer of board of a British cruiser active in the Adriatic between August 1916-October 1917. He wrote that the Italian naval air station at Taranto was for the major part used for training purposes and occasionally for patrolling in the Gulf of Taranto and along the drifter line between Cape St. Maria and Corfu. Started was with Curtiss single engine flying boats used for the training until F.B. As were acquired. The latter were used of training and patrolling. The in April 1917 to the station added L.3 flying boats (1) were only used for patrolling.
