German navy not completely satisfied with pocket battleship Deutschland according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1934 no. 7

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht dated 20 October 1934 reporting that according to well informed sources the German navy was not completely satisfied with the Deutschland. Her engines were extremely noisy and there were plans to discharge her exhausts gases into the water.(1)

1. Panzerschiff of the Deutschland-class, later classified as heavy cruiser. Known abroad as pocket battleship. Laid down by Deutsche Werke, Kiel, Germany on 5 February 1929, launched on 19 May 1931, commissioned on 1 April 1933, renamed Lützow in January 1940 and sunk as a target in the Baltic by the Soviet navy on 22 July 1947.
