Den Helder, Netherlands 1 July 2023. Replica built in 2021-2022
The Dutch enginees and inventor Cornelis Jacobszoon Drebbel (1572 Alkmaar, Netherlands-7 November 1733 London, England) built in England in 1620 worlds first operational submarine followed by two more (between 1620-1624). The last model was fitted out with 6 oars able to transport 16 passengers and was tested in the Thames during 3 hours while submerged. Never used by the British Royal Navy lacking enthousiasm.
