Spanish torpedo boat T-6 1913-1934

Part of T-class preceded by Arie-class succeeded by German S-boats. Between 1912-1922 were totally 22 of the planned 24 boats built by Sociedad Española de Construcción Naval, Cartagena, Spain. Based on the French Bourrasque-torpedo boats class, design from Chantiers et Ateliers A. Normand, Le Havre, France? Launched in 1913 and broken up in 1934. International call sign GKBR. Dimensions 50 (maximum) x 5,00 (maximum) x 3.20 x 1.95 metres. Maximum displacement 196,82 ton. Number of screws 3. Maximum speed 27,00 knots. Coal bunker capacity1,000 ton. Crew numbered 31 men. Armament 3-4.7cm Vickers guns, 1x45cm and 1x2-45cm torpedo tubes.

Part of Benham-class (sometimes called as Ellet-class) preceded by Somers-class succeeded by Sims-class. Gibbs&Cox-design. Built between 1936-1939 were 10 vessels built with a limited 1,500 tons standard displacement according to the London Naval Treaty. With similar characteristiscs as the Gridley- and Bagley-classes. Hull number DD-405. Laid down by Norfolk Navy Yard on 25 June 1937, launched on 5 May 1938, commissioned on 23 September 1939 and torpedoed and sunk by a German S-boat on 11 September 1943 while underway from Paestum, Greece to Oran, French Algeria.
