Dutch whaler Nooit Gedagt sold at Amsterdam, Netherlands 16 October 1769

Sold on an auction Monday 16 October 1769 in the Nieuwezyds Heeren Logement at Amsterdam the whaler Nooit Gedagt. This extra ordinary seaworthy sailing fluyt ship had as master Rokes Verschoor and was newly fitted out in 1736. Her dimensions were 116 x 29’4”x 13, the verdeck 6’6” and the S. 9’2” (?) in Amsterdam foot. Costs ƒ 5.800, with and adjudication of ƒ 500.Hendrik van Wayenburg. Rokus Verschoor was a commandeur in the Strait Davis whale-fishery. He sailed in 1769 in service of Joannes van Wayenburg at Amsterdam. His results were 2 whales, 90 barrels whale-blubber and 123 quardelen train oil.
