Of the Invincible-class consisting of the Invincible, Illustrious and Indomitable although the latter was renamed Ark Royal, preceded by the Audacious and Centaur-classes and succeeded by Queen Elizabeth-class. Displacement 22.000 tons and as dimensions 210 x 36 x 7,6 metres. The machinery consists of 3 Roll-Royce Olympus TM3B gas turbines supplying 97.000 hp and 8 Paxman Valenta diesel generators allowing a speed of more as 30 knots and with a speed of 18 knots a range of 5.000 nautical miles. Her crew numbers 685 men excluded the 366 men of the Fleet Air Arm. Armament consists of 3 Goalkeepers CIWS and 2 GAM-N01 2cm close range guns and able to take 22 helicopters of several types like Sea Kinf, Chinook, Apache, Merin and Lynx with her. When she was decommissioned she could take 22 Sea Harriers/Harrier II with her.
