The Sachishio belonged to the Yushio attack submarine class project S 123. Building no. 8097. Pennant SS-582, Laid down at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Shipbuilding Corporation 11 April 1986, launched 17 February 1988, commissioned 24 March 1989, decommissioned 14 April 2006 and scrapped.
