The American naval program according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland morning edition dated 13 February 1935

The chairman of the naval commission of the House of Representatives announced that the feral government approved a naval program costs 38,098,000 dollar. Of this budget was 15,000,000 dollar for the strengthening of the naval base at Pearl Harbour, 10,000,000 dollar for a large floating dock at the same base, 2,000,000 dollar for ammunition depots in Balbao and Cocosolo (Panama Channel area) and 6,000,000 for fitting out warships. Winson said that of the mentioned sum 20,000,000 dollar was part of the public building program of 300,000,000 dollar included in the budget for next year. The remaining sum was coming from regular credits.
