London, 17 December. Answering questions of members of the House of Commons answered Snowden (1) that the constructions costs of the naval base at Singapore were estimated to be 11.6000,000 pound sterling. The navy would pay 9,000,000, the army 2,000,000 and the air force 600,000 pound sterling. The dominions and the colonies offered 3,250,000 pound sterling so that England had to pay 8,350,000 pound sterling a figure which could be revised after the coming naval conference.
