Of the wood-built Dokkum-class. On stocks at the yard of the Niestern Scheepsbouw Unie at Hellevoetsluis on 24 March 1955, launched on 26 April 1956 and commissioned on 19 December 1956 as the Sittard with the pennant M 830. She was built for American account in the Mutual Defence Assistance Program. Displacement 425 ton with as dimensions 46,62 x 8,78 x 2,00 meter. The two diesel engines provided totally 2.500 ship while driven two turnable screws allowing a speed of 14 miles. Her crew numbered 41 men while she was armed with 2-40mm machine guns.
