On Wednesday 18 June was at the yard De Walvisch of shipbuilder Jan Nieveen in the Bikkerstraat at Amsterdam the keel laid down of the bark ship Java’s Welvaren of 500 tons. She was build for account of B.W. van Straten and destined for the Dutch East Indies trade shipping. According to the same newspaper dated 7 April 1835 was she successfully launched in the afternoon of Wednesday [1April]. Her measurement was now reported as 250 lasten.
