By order of 12 May 1893 were the ships destined for service in the Dutch East Indies called flottieljevessels, the Sommelsdijk was called corvette and the Aruba, Bonaire and Suriname schooner. Nowadays the Bonaire still exists and is lying in the naval homeport of the Dutch Navy at Den Helder in a original dry dock to be rebuilt to her original appearance.
