The Peruvian navy according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 16 March 1822

London, 12 March. The latest letters of Lima dated until 16 October reported a quarrel between lord Cochrane and general San Martin caused by the seizure of the first of the amount of around 500.000 piasters belonging to private persons and the government of Lima. The money was sent with transports and seized by Cochrane to pay the wages of his sailors of the fleet who were revolting while they were not paid for more as 12 months. Cochrane sailed to the Mexican coast to search for the Spanish frigates la Prueba and la Venganza and support the patriots in these waters. Captain Guise was by general Martin appointed as admiral of Peru.
