British war- and merchant ships captured by the French-Spanish fleet at Lisbon according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haarlemse Courant dated 18 May 1805

An item dated Paris 14 May reported that in the newspaper Journal de la Haute Garonne a list of British ships was published which were captured by a combined French-Spanish fleet in the harbour of Lisbon. It were 5 ships of the line and 60-80 merchant ships and transports destined towards Malta and Gibraltar. The value was estimated to be 15.000.000 piasters. The tiding was yet not confirmed by official reports.
