Brazilian navy disarming her submarines Algemeen Handelbsblad dated 20 November 1933

An item dated Rio de Janeiro dated 19 November referred to newspapers reporting that except for the Humayta all Brazilian submarines were to be disarmed.(1)

1. Conways All the worlds fighting ships 1922-1946 called her Humaita which was launched at Muggiano 11 June 1927, commissioned on 25 March tow year later and finally stricken in 1951. With a displacement of 1,390-1,884 tons were her dimensions 285 over all) x 257 x 132. Her armament consisted of 4-21bow torpedo tubes and 2-21 stern torpedo tubes, 1-4 guns and she could carried with her 16 mines. The crew numbered 61 men. A submarine of the improved Balilla design suitable for deep diving.
