Dutch tug Castor performing pilot duties according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch Nieuwsblad dated 18 January 1899

An item dated IJmuiden 17 January reported that the due to the worse weather and the high water level the pilot cutters did not leave the harbour. The tug Castor was now used for pilot services.
