Greece interested in buying Italian warships according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 20 September 1910

An item reported that the Greece cabinet was negotiating with Italy about the sale of three warships of which the cruiser Pisa (1) the most important unit was. Her building costs were 30.750,000 francs. Several rich Greeks promised large sums of money. On the other hand seemed Italy to have said to Turkey not wanting to sell warships.

1. This was an Italian built armoured cruiser of the Pisa-class and which became nowadays still existing Georgios Averoff. With a displacement of 9,956 (standard)-10,200 (full load) tons and as dimensions 140,13 x 21 x 7,18 metres. Laid down on 27 February 1910 at the Orlando Shipyards at Livorno.
