British commission advices Chinese naval reorganisation according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 3 December 1930

An item reported that the British Admiralty announced that as a result of the naval treaty between China and England signed in June 1929 at Nanking a British commission would deport towards China. She was there to advice and support the reorganisation and modernizing of the Chinese navy. Captain Baillie Grogman (1) was as senior officer of the commission promoted to the rank of commodore in the Chinese navy. He was to depart begin 1931 towards Nanking.

1. Harold Tom Baillie (15 January 1888-23 September 1978), retired in 1946 in the rank of vice admiral. Served in 1931-1932 in China.
