The Dunkerque
An item dated Paris 22 September reported that the French minister of navy Pietri (1) stated during an interview in the magazine Excelsior that no other country than France had to pay such a high prize to restore her navy after the First World War. He give this interview after the intended launching of the cruiser Dunkerque on 2 October.(2) The French navy measured at that moment 426.000 tons excluded the 2-35.000 tons cruisers of which the Parliament just approved the budget needed for the building.
