Soviet Union naval strength according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuwsblad voor Sumatra dated 3 June 1953

An item reported that the Soviet Union navy consisted of four battleships, two aircraft carriers, three armoured ships, nine heavy cruisers, one light cruiser, 75 destroyers, 200 fast boats and three hundred submarines in the Baltic and the Pacific and in the Black Sea two battleships, six cruisers, 25 destroyers and 55 submarines.
