Spanish navy modernizing according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 6 May 1955

An item reported that the USA and Spain signed an agreement with the purpose to supply Spain a strong and modern navy. The Spanish navy was partly to be modernized with American ships and partly with new ships manufactured in Spain and other European countries. The core of the crews was to consist of Spanish sailors trained in the USA.
