US naval budget approved according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 25 February 1901

An item reported that the financial commission of the Congress approved the proposal of the minister of navy to spent that year 77.000.000 US dollars for strengthening the navy. Two battleships and two cruisers were to be build by private shipyards.
