An announcement reported that the well known Dutch campagne bark ship Zeenymph captain J.J. Graadt van Roggen was to depart Amsterdam end July towards Batavia with on board a skilled doctor and a milk cow. For more details could be asked at owner F.A. The website http://www.scheepsindex.nl/schip.php?i=6996 reports that she was built in 1854 at the shipyard Het Wapen van Amsterdam (former Koning David) in Amsterdam and that she was sold to Germany in 1871. The newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 3 October 1854 published an announcement that she was to depart Amsterdam towards Batavia, Samarang and Surabaya. Captain of this newly built coppered bark ship was J.W.J. Witsen Elias and owner F.A. Jas. Excellent passenger accommodation with spacious cabins with a bathroom, piano and library. The edition dated 7 August published an item dated Amsterdam Saturday 5 August that she was launched that day at the shipyard het Wapen van Amsterdam by shipbuilder F.
