The newspaper Dagblad van Zuidholland en ‘s-Gravenhage dated 27 June 1857 published an item dated Dordrecht 24 June reporting her launching the same afternoon. The frigateship measured 400 lasten with as captain Giessen and owner J. Maurtiz&Co. The keel was laid down on 20 May during the celebration of 100-years existence of the grand loge of freemasonry and was completely paid by the freemasonry like other ships as Broedertrouw and Zwijger.
