French emperor ordered building of a steam gunboat according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated 26 April 1860

An item reported that the French emperor ordered the building of a new kind of gunboat which was propelled by means of heated air [steam]. If this propulsion was used for the whole French fleet were the annual costs decreased with 80.000.000 francs.
