British cruiser minelayer HMS Adventure nearly launched according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine N.&M. Record dated 4 June 1924 no. 13 reporting that in June the British cruiser minelayer Adventure (1) would be launched. With a displacement of 7.000 tons was her length 520 feet. In the past year was 323.236 pound sterling (included 112.000 pound sterling for wages) spent for building her. After the ship on she was built came available was there the keel of the new light [heavy!] cruiser Cornwall to be laid down.

1. The minelayer M23 fitted out as first warship with diesel engines, to be used for cruising. Her building was ordered on 18 July 1921, laid down at the shipyard of Vickers Limited, Barrow-in-Furness&Devonport Royal Dockyard on 29 November 1922, launched on 18 June two years later, commissioned on 2 October 1926, since 1944 classified as repair ship and 3 years sold to be broken up. With a displacement of 6.740 long ton/6.850 tons (standard)-8.370 long tons/8.500 tons (full load) were her dimensions 152,4 (between perpendiculars)-164,3 (over all) x 18,00 (over bulges) x 4,42-5,26 (full load) metres or 500‘-539’ x 59’ x 14’6”.
