Irish bulk carrier Irish Elm launched at Cork according to the Dutch newspaper Het vrije volk dated Friday 19 January 1968

An item reported that the Thursday before at the Verolme shipyard at Rozenburg the 38.000 ton bulk carrier Irish Elm was delivered to the shipping company Irish Shipping Ltd. She was the largest ship until then built at the Verolme shipyard at Cork, Ireland with as dimensions 194 x 28 x 11 metres. Loading capacity 1.650.000 cubic feet. Her crew numbered 45 men.
