American cruiser USS Bancroft performed during trial according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1892-1893 no. 11

An item referred to the magazine Army and Navy Journal reporting that the school cruiser USS Bancroft performed well during a trial on 26 January.(1) With a medium 222,4 rpm allowed both engines a speed of 14,4 miles. The full speed forward was in 12 seconds reversed into full speed backwards. Her displacement is 838 ton.

1. This gunboat annex practice ship was laid down in 1891 and launched on 30 April 1892 was finally handed over in 1906 to the Revenue Cutter Service.
