Mutations within the Japanese navy according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland daily edition dated 1 May 1938

According to an official announcement was vice admiral Kosjiro Oikawa appointed as supreme commander of the main division stationed in the Chinese waters. He replaced vice admiral Hasegawa (2) who became commanding officer of the naval base at Jokoesoeka [Yokosuka].

Notes
1. Koshiro Oikawa (16 February 1883-9 May 1958) was on 15 November 1939 promoted to the rank of admiral and a year later appointed with the command over the Yokosuka Naval District. In the period 5 September 1940-18 October 1941 was he minister of navy.
