Arrival of Dutch whalers at Texel on 8 and 9 August according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 14 August 1759

Arrival on 8 August Jonge Jacob, commandeur H. Jochemsz, 5 whales, 222 barrels of whale blubber, Jonge Sara, commandeur W. Symons, 5 whales, 222 barrels of whale blubber and the ‘t Raadhuis van Westzaandam, commandeur C. Nannings, 2½ whales, 100 barrels of whale blubber, all from Greenland. Arrival on 9 August de 3 Gebroeders, commandeur C. Mooy, 4 whales, 194 barrels of whale blubber from Greenland and the ‘t Genoegen, commandeur K. Hilbrands, 3 whales, 137 barrels of whale blubber from Davis Strait.(1)

Haarlem, 1770. This book also contains hand written notes for the period 1770-1794 were what the newspaper indicated as quardelen in fact barrels of whale blubber and not quardelen train oil.
