Dutch whaler Pieter sold at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 18 October 1773

This fluytship was sold on Monday 18 October 1773 in the Nieuwezyds Heeren Logement at Amsterdam. Newly fitted out in 1740. In 1762 doubled using oak. Dimensions in Amsterdam foot 109¼ x 28’1”x 12’3½, height verdeck 6’10” and S. 8’10”. Last commandeur was Volkert Broer.(1) Prize ƒ 7,200, subcharge 225, A. Swarwout for his master.

1. Van Sante mentioned a Volkert Broer commandeur on a Greenland whaler for director Adam Hakman of Amsterdam in 1773 with as results 1½ whales, 80 barrels of whale blubber and 112 quardelen tarin oil.
