Heavy losses of Greek navy according to the Dutch newspaper Limburgsch Dagblad dated 8 May 1941

According to the item dated New York 7 May lost the Greek navy more as 30 auxiliary ships due to air attacks by which their crews were killed. The information was supplied by the Crete fled Greek cabinet to the Associated Press.  These so-called auxiliary ships consisted in fact of minelayers, patrol vessels and escort vessels. Further more were 3 of the 10 destroyers sunk during the attacks and of the 13 torpedo boats arrived just 2 at Alexandria. About the fate of the other torpedo boats was nothing said. Off all Greek freighters just 6 were available lying in harbours abroad.
