The Austrian, Greek and Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 16 July 1825

Vienna, 5 July. In the newspaper Oesterreichische Beobachter was a extensive report of major Bandiera, commanding officer of the goelette Arethusa dated Zea 28 May published supplying details of the burning of Turkish warships at Modon.

Augsburg, 10 July. The newspaper Allgemeine Zeitung published a news item dated Odessa 23 June. According to this item confirmed tidings from Constantinople dated 17 June the defeat of the Captain Pasha losing several ships including his own admirals' ship. A item dated Trieste dated 1 July based on tidings from Corfu dated 21 June arrived several ships there coming from Calamara, Napoli-di-Romania and Missolunghi with tidings from that areas dated until 18 June. According to this last tidings joined admiral Sachturi off Suda general Miauly and attacked the Turkish fleet of the Captain Pasha there again while burning another 5 of the largest ships. Miauly reported to the government at Napoli-di-Romania that he hoped that within 2 months there were none Turkish ships left to face the Greek.

Frankfurt, 11 July. According to tidings from Zante dated 15 July captured the Greek flotilla crossing off the coasts of Achaie 19 European transports loaded with victuals for the Turkish garrison at Patras. The Greeks unloaded the ships but returned the ships to their masters while even paying the hire conform the contract signed by the Captain pasha.
