In the meeting of the French Parliament on 25 March was decided that in 1935 the keels were to be laid down of a battleship if 35,000 tons and 2 destroyer and that for the years between 1935 and 1939 the budgets were approved of 785.000.000 francs for the abovementioned battleship, 148.000.000 for two torpedo boats (or destroyers?) and 132.000.000 for replacements and spar parts for these three vessels. The effort of the socialists to delay the debate was by the majority of the parliament rejected.
